Intensive/Extended Sessions for Trauma Therapy and OCD Therapy

Intensive Trauma, PTSD, or Complex PTSD Therapy Sessions

The first stage in trauma therapy is to work alongside clients to assist her in creating safety, promoting stabilization, and increasing coping skills. This foundation is essential to establish before diving into processing trauma so that your nervous system is more regulated and can cope with the potential activation that sometimes accompanies trauma work. After sufficient time in the stabilization stage, stage two, processing trauma using various interventions such as EMDR, Sensorimotor, IFS, and Ego states can occur.

Often as a result of trauma, difficulties may arise during the week that need to be processed in session, taking focus in session off of direct trauma work and getting to the roots of certain struggles. Extended and daily (or multiple sessions per week) for a short period of time allows for more targeted interventions to occur with less of the day-to-day trials occupying as much space in session. If you feel ready and desire focused trauma therapy, extensive, consecutive and extended sessions can be arrange.

Intensive OCD Therapy (ERP)

The first step in OCD treatment is to lean coping skills to learn to tolerate distress, and the learn how to challenge automatic OCD thinking. Once this baseline is established, you may be ready to engage in Exposure-Response Prevention Therapy.

Frequent (daily, every-second day) sessions allows you to work through your list of the hierarchy of OCD fears/struggles with me and allows to daily supported practice in engaging in the exposures. This frequent practice can yield results and healing from OCD much quicker than weekly sessions.
