A little about me.

Welcome.  Thank you for taking time to explore my webpage. My name is Heather MacPherson and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor.  I have a private practice for women located in Harrison Mills which is situated between Mission and Agassiz, BC.  I also provide virtual sessions via secure video platform and by phone.  As a highly relational person, my attuned attention and compassionate nature are a large part of my practice. I firmly believe that healing takes place, partly, through relationship. As such, it is within the therapeutic relationship that I tailor specific theoretical approaches to meet each individual’s unique strengths, desires, processes, and needs.

I have had the privilege of working alongside people in a variety of capacities for the past 15 years: in outpatient, inpatient, residential, and day treatment mental health facilities, in schools, and in the community.  I have supported individuals of all ages through a variety of life trials such as PTSD, complex PTSD, OCD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, borderline personality traits, and developmental disabilities such as Austism Spectrum Disorder and Down Syndrome.

When I am not in the office, I am at the beach with my dogs, waterskiing, snow-skiing, outside enjoying nature, or rescuing and rehabilitating stray dogs both locally and in Cuba.  I am committed to my own healing process and to my life-long education and continually seek personal and educational opportunities, trainings, workshops, and conferences to further enhance my growth and practice.
